TUCSIN: the development of an Indigenous idea.

TUCSIN has a rich tradition of pursuing the virtue of meritocracy and a proven track record of helping to uplift young Namibians to realise their potential for the benefit of the country as a whole. Over the past 45 years, various international donors have supported this locally-based non-profit organisation. TUCSIN was registered as a trust in 1992 and managed by a Board of Trustees, within the framework of a Deed of Trust. The organisation currently has 9 permanent employees and 14 part-time employees, deployed in Windhoek.

At TUCSIN, our mission is to make a positive impact on the lives of marginalised groups in Namibia, as well as to help young Namibians to realise their dreams by upgrading their Grade 11 and Grade 12 results and enhancing their personal growth by developing skills in social interaction, decision-making, leadership, and particularly in critical thinking.

TUCSIN’s Dr Beatrice Sandelowsky campus is at 16 Mont Blanc Street in Windhoek, where upgrading is offered for both Grade 11 (NSSCO) and Grade 12 (NSSCAS) AS external examinations.TUCSIN is known for producing excellent results year on year. If one considers that the students coming to TUCSIN failed to achieve passing grades in regular schools or university entry qualifications, or acceptable results in the labour market, then the results are even more impressive.

TUCSIN has also forged associations with international academics and has given them practical assistance wherever possible with their research within Namibia.

TUCSIN will offer evening CC-classes for those who are working and would like to improve their grade 11 or 12 results.

TUCSIN will run an afternoon homework class (with a minimum 10 participants).

We offer upgrading courses in the STEM field in cooperation with Cisco.

TUCSIN is a test centre for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) internet-based test (iBT).

Career advice : the purpose of the TUCSIN Career Focus newsletter is to provide career guidance to TUCSIN students as well as to the public through our TUCSIN website.

Finally, TUCSIN has an active and impressive Alumni Association, from within which many of those Namibians who have benefited from TUCSIN recognise the need to give back by continuing its vision and objectives.
